Helen Folasade Adu (born 16 January 1959), known professionally as Sade Adu, is a Nigerian-born English singer, composer, songwriter, and record producer. Sade is a renowned jazz, pop, urban, and adult contemporary vocalist, noted for her soulful, smoky contralto. She has achieved success in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s as the frontwoman and lead vocalist of the popular Grammy Award-winning English group Sade.
